Monitoring Stations
This site provides direct access to the Port of Anacortes’ sound level monitors. This monitor is located at the nearest residential property to the marine terminal. This location was chosen because it is located at the boundary of two differing uses. Sound levels are measured 24 hours a day to provide a baseline for the soundscape at this location. This information is used to inform operational improvements, for reducing noise exposure, and for making better environmental stewardship decisions. Noise in the City of Anacortes, including the Port of Anacortes, is governed by Chapter 173-60 Washington Administrative Code.
